Say Cheese!!

One of the new trends is to have a photo booth at your wedding!
This can be really fun for your guests and it can be a great keepsake for you and your new husband.

Anyone who gets their picture taken in the booth will get to keep the pictures and then the same pictures get put into a memory book for the bride and groom to keep!

A lot of people like doing this because they don't get a chance to take pictures of everyone at the wedding.  This way you have something to remember everyone who was there to celebrate your special day with you!

Have a photo booth at your wedding for a great time and for great memories!!!

Don't forget the out of towners

If you are having a lot of guests from out of town a fun thing to do for them is to have a gift basket waiting for them when they check into their hotel before the wedding.

It will make them feel welcome and special that you were thinking about them on their journey to travel to be with you on your special day.

Fun ideas for gift baskets are to do little items related with the city or state they are staying in.  For instance if your wedding is in Wisconsin some good old Wisconsin cheese curds would be a nice touch!

What's on top?

Cake toppers can be as simple or as elegant as you are going for.  This beautiful cake has a monogram cake topper that has glitter on it.

For a more humourous couple you could choose a cake topper like this.  The groom is trying one last time to get away!

This cake topper has the bride and grooms name written in wire.  It is simple yet sentimental since it is personalized.

This bride and groom decided on a cake topper that wasn't personalized but it fit in with the autumn theme.

When picking a cake topper you can match it with your theme, be humorous or go with the traditional monogram.  Most of all you just want your cake to look beautiful!

Cost saving tip:  Don't use a cake topper.  Not having a cake topper can actually draw more attention to your cake rather than to the cake topper and look just as elegant!

Creative Kid's Easter Crafts

Easter is a special time of year when the flowers start to bloom and the weather outside starts getting warm.  It comes just in time for everyone to get spring fever!  A fun thing to do around this time is make crafts with your kids to decorate for this holiday.  Traditionally this is a very colorful holiday which makes it fun to decorate!

One easy craft you can do is use colored tissue paper and crumple it up and tie a green pipe cleaner around the bottom to make a pretty bouquet of flowers.

Here a bunny is made out of paper and used as a little Easter basket.  Candy fits in the top of the bunny!

Here a little chick and bunny are made out of dixie cups.  If you can't find solid colored cups you can always wrap construction paper around the cups.  Feathers, eyes, ribbon and other things can be used as embellishments.  Use your creativity to decorate it as much or as little as your little one would like!

With all the colors at Easter use your imagination to to make things fun and colorful for you and your kids.  And of course enjoy some candy!!

Easter Egg hunts

Easter is right around the corner and all kids love to look for Easter Eggs filled with candy.

One idea for looking for the Easter Basket filled with all the candy is to tie a string to the basket and then weave it around things in your house.  In and out of rooms and around things.  Then tie the string to the door of the the child's whose basket it is.

Another idea is to give each child an egg with a clue in it, that will lead them to the next egg, and the next.  Some of the eggs along the way should have candy or small gifts in them and then the final egg would have a clue for a larger gift!

Write the names of each of your children on an egg and have them search for just those.  It will be fun finding the eggs but only being able to keep some of them.  And the kids could rehide their other siblings eggs to make it harder so that they have to search more.  First one to find all their eggs wins!

And of course there is the traditional egg hunt.  Where everyone searches for all the eggs until they are gone and then search for their easter basket!

Searching for eggs is fun for kids, some like twists and some like doing something different so you can try some of these ideas to spice things up a little!

The Ring Bearer Pillow

When you are deciding on your ring bearer pillow you can be as simple or as colorful as you want to be. There are many pillows out there that you can buy premade or you can choose to make your own.

This pillow is more traditional with the simple ribbon and flower.

Here the couple has chosen to have a pillow that stands out a lot more. The black pillow will really stand out when the cute little ring bearer is walking down the aisle.

A pattern that is really in style lately is the damask pattern. This is very common for weddings. Here is a pillow that fits right along with the damask theme.

This bride has chosen a pretty simple pillow with just the red ribbon across however, with the ribbon going from corner to corner it really adds a nice and unique touch.

Here is another pillow that is colored. This one is very elegant with the shiny gold pillow and the brown tulle over it.

This pillow has a cherry blossom pattern on it. It is very different and very pretty. This would really add to a wedding that has a strong theme going.

Cost saving tip: Plain white pillows with white ribbon tend to be less expensive. Buy those and add your own ribbon and embellishments. It will save you money and allow you to be creative!

Clink Clink Clink Clink Clink

Hearing clinking glasses at a wedding is common. Everybody loves to see the bride and groom kiss kiss on their special day!

It is becoming more common however to do something a little less traditional.

Some brides and grooms choose to have people come and tell stories about them to get them to kiss. Others will have other couple kiss first to get them to kiss.

A couple that got married at a golf course had a putting green in front of the head table. Anyone that wanted the bride and groom to kiss had to come and make a putt.

Another couple had people come to the front and sing songs with the word love in it to get the newlyweds to kiss.

Anything you want to do to have people get you to kiss will make your reception more fun and eventful.

The more creative you get the more fun everyone will have!!!

Picnic Wedding Reception

Summer is coming and what a perfect time to have a picnic themed wedding reception! These mini picnic baskets are perfect for little favors for your guests! And the candy chosen can match the colors of your wedding!

A simple but cute way to have your utensils wrapped is to put a little flower and ribbon with each of them. Even though they are just cloth napkins and plastic forks it looks very classy!

This couple had a cute little sign posted on the fence to welcome the guests. If there isn't a fence present a sign could be posted on a tree or a stake in the ground.

To entertain guests, simple little yard games like croquet could be set up. On a perfect sunny day for a wedding who wouldn't want to be outside playing yard games! And to do it on someones special day would be perfect!

Picnic wedding receptions are a nice and easy way to celebrate your special day. Everybody enjoys the outdoors and will have a great time!

To Veil or Not To Veil

This bride wore a veil that was tulle and had little white shimmer beads that were sew en along the bottom.

This veil cascaded down past the bottom of the dress. Since the fabric was organza the long veil fit really well and looked absolutely gorgeous.

This bride has a simple plain veil that fits perfectly below her updo.

This veil is for the bride that doesn't have as much going on with her dress. The edging is very pretty and would add a lot of detail to a more simple wedding dress.

Here is another cascading veil that has more detail. It look gorgeous in the back and fits really well with her fitted bridal gown.

And if you aren't sure of the whole veil thing or don't want to wear it all night you don't have to! This bride took her veil off right after pictures!

Cost saving tip: Buy a plain veil and add your own embellishments. The first bride was wearing a plain veil that that had beads hand sewen on to it. It cost roughly $25 for the veil. And for you brides out there who are looking at veils know that is a very good deal for a veil!

Baby's First Steps

Recently my 10 month old starting taking her first steps. It is super exciting!!

She has this lion that she likes to push back and forth until she is "out of road"! I love watching her go back and forth!

For those of you who have little ones that is a really exciting time! It is a big thing when they start to take those first little steps.

Soon she will be walking all over and I won't have to worry about her tipping over when she lets go of things.

Although I have a feeling she will be getting into a lot more!!!

Cupcake wedding cakes!

Cupcakes are the new big thing in Wedding cakes!

They look gorgeous no matter what you do with them. You can fit them into your wedding with the colors of the frosting!

These cupcakes were place as center pieces so guests had easy access to their yummy desert after dinner. (bonus: you don't need centerpieces!)

Here the bride and groom still had the top layer as cake to save for their first anniversary!!

And look how cute the little bride and groom are on this cupcake!

If you are thinking about having cupcakes instead of a cake at your wedding have fun and be creative with it!!

Tip: Double them as decorations to cut cost!!
